Improvement and modernisation of irrigation systems

Project

Modernisation of nearly 10,000 hectares of irrigated land in Morocco, specifically in the Doukkala Region located south of the central plain on the Atlantic coast.

This region has a useful agricultural area of one million hectares. Sugar beet and capers are the main crops grown in the region. These crops are irrigated with water mainly from l’oued Oum Errabia whose source is in the Middle Atlas at an altitude of about 1200 m.

With the implementation of the project made available to the public by the Office Régional d’Emise en Valeur Agricole de Doukkala, a total of 3880 farmers will benefit from the improvement of their facilities.
