The opening of AZUD’s subsidiary in California strengthens the international projection of Murcia’s agro-technological ecosystem in one of the world’s most strategic agricultural markets.
Murcia, July 2026. AgritechMurcia continues to consolidate its international projection in strategic markets for global agriculture. In this context, AZUD, a company belonging to the AgritechMurcia ecosystem and an international benchmark in solutions for efficient water use, irrigation, filtration, fertigation and decentralised treatment, has reinforced its presence in the United States through the creation and consolidation of AZUD USA.
The opening of this subsidiary represents a new step in the international strategy of a Murcian company with more than four decades of experience linked to water and agricultural innovation. Beyond AZUD’s business growth, however, this milestone also reflects AgritechMurcia’s ability to project the knowledge, technology and experience of the Region of Murcia towards territories facing major agricultural, climate and water-related challenges.
The consolidation of AZUD USA also comes at a particularly significant moment for AgritechMurcia. Last year, a delegation from Murcia’s agro-technological ecosystem took part in an immersion mission in California, a strategic multi-day visit designed to gain first-hand knowledge of the US agricultural market, its innovation models, technological needs and main institutional, business and production stakeholders.
During this agenda, representatives of AgritechMurcia visited farms, innovation centres, agricultural organisations, technology companies and key spaces for advanced agriculture in California. The mission made it possible to establish direct contact with a highly competitive agricultural ecosystem focused on innovation, especially in areas such as efficient water management, intensive production, regenerative agriculture, automation, technology applied to the field and high-value cropping systems.
This experience reinforced a key idea for AgritechMurcia: the Region of Murcia has agricultural knowledge that is especially valuable for territories facing similar challenges, such as water scarcity, climate pressure, the need to increase productive efficiency and the search for more sustainable and profitable agricultural models.
In this sense, AZUD’s presence in the United States takes on a dimension that goes beyond commercial expansion. The company acts as one of the international expressions of Murcia’s know-how in water and agriculture, two areas in which the Region of Murcia has developed recognised expertise, particularly in decentralised water treatment. Founded in 1989 in the Region of Murcia, AZUD operates in more than 100 countries and is part of the AgritechMurcia ecosystem.
