Murcia, February 2026.

AgritechMurcia welcomed this week a delegation from AUSVEG, the national organization representing Australia’s vegetable, potato, and nut producers, and a key intermediary between the productive sector, industry, and public administrations in the country.

The visit follows contacts made at the AgritechMurcia stand during the recent Fruit Logistica international trade fair, after conversations with the Spanish Embassy in Australia and INFO Región de Murcia, with the aim of showcasing the agricultural technology model developed in the Region and its applicability in other international production contexts.

Technical exchange and knowledge transfer

AUSVEG is a benchmark organization within Australia’s horticultural sector, with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, productivity improvement, and advocacy for growers’ interests. Its visit to Murcia reflects an interest in proven solutions from regions with demanding climatic conditions, particularly in relation to water management, greenhouse production, and field-applied technologies.

During the visit, the Australian delegation toured organic pepper greenhouses and hydroponic, substrate-free lettuce production systems, where they learned about intensive production models based on water efficiency, climate control, and sustainable approaches tailored to international markets. The program was completed with technical field visits, highlighting AgritechMurcia’s capacity to bring together complementary solutions ranging from greenhouse engineering to crop protection and the technological upgrading of horticultural, fruit, and citrus farms.

Murcia as an agricultural technology hub

From AgritechMurcia’s perspective, this visit reinforces the group’s international positioning strategy as a technological partner for sector organizations, governments, and international entities seeking comprehensive, adaptable agricultural solutions with proven field results.

The Region of Murcia is thus consolidating itself as a benchmark in applied agricultural technology development, capable of transferring knowledge and productive models to other countries facing similar challenges in terms of climate, resource availability, and sustainability.

These types of technical meetings and inbound visits are part of AgritechMurcia’s roadmap to foster international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the generation of opportunities in agricultural projects on a global scale.
