News

AgritechMurcia, the agricultural technology platform of the Region of Murcia, has taken a significant step in its internationalisation process with the signing of its first contract with the Government of Uzbekistan. During its assembly in the second half of 2024, it was stated that this agreement marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration that boosts Murcian companies in the Asian market, with a special focus on key areas such as energy optimisation and water management.

The contract with Uzbekistan is an important milestone for AgritechMurcia, which has been working intensively in African and Asian markets, developing innovative technological solutions to improve efficiency in agricultural sectors. Since its inception, AgritechMurcia has been committed to internationalisation, working not only in the optimisation of resources, but also in training, research and development of new technologies applied to agriculture, engineering and sustainability.

The first step in Uzbekistan was a project focused on energy optimisation and water resource management, two key areas for the country’s sustainable development. The growth is part of a strategy that has allowed companies from Murcia to consolidate themselves as international players.

This contract not only opens new doors in Uzbekistan, but also strengthens the region’s presence in the Asian market.

The AgritechMurcia umbrella has facilitated the entry of several companies from Murcia into international markets. These include the participation of engineering companies that have worked on energy optimisation studies and solutions for pumping systems. Thanks to their collaborative network, they have managed to create a robust business ecosystem that allows companies from the Region of Murcia to sell their products and services outside Spain.

In addition, AgritechMurcia’s internationalisation efforts are complemented by agreements with the network of international agents and professional associations, such as the Association of Industrial Engineers of the Region of Murcia (COIIRM) and the Official Association of Technical Agricultural Engineers and Graduates in Agricultural Engineering of the Region of Murcia (COGITARM), which are playing a fundamental role in strengthening the presence of companies from Murcia in emerging markets. This ecosystem is opening the door to new business opportunities and collaborations on a global scale.

As for the future, AgritechMurcia is preparing to further expand its international presence. It is expected that by 2025, the organisation will have an even more consolidated presence in international markets, with a diversified offer of services and products focused on sustainability and technological innovation.
