The region of Murcia is internationally known as “Europe’s pantry or vegetable garden”, being the region in Spain that produces the most fruit and vegetables for exportation to other countries both within and outside the EU. This intensive agriculture extracts a large amount of nutrients from our soil, for which reason these must be constantly replenished through the use of special fertilizers that contribute directly to the soil such as; controlled-release fertilizers, complemented with fertigation with the application of highly-soluble crystalline fertilizers, or through the use of liquid fertilizers. The latter are widely used due to their ease of use and profitability as they favour significant cost reductions in terms of labour.
