AgritechMurcia recently took part in the Sustainable Agriculture Workshops held in Nouakchott, organised by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the National Rural Development Society of Mauritania (SONADER), with the support of the Spanish Embassy and the Trade Office.
Over two days, the event brought together public authorities, private stakeholders from the Mauritanian agri-food sector and representatives of multilateral organisations operating in the country, with the aim of promoting dialogue, sharing experiences and identifying opportunities for technical collaboration.
📍 AgritechMurcia presented the experience and technological capabilities developed in the Region of Murcia, a pioneering area in high-performance agricultural solutions under adverse climatic conditions. During the official presentation, special emphasis was placed on the public-private collaboration model that supports our group, as well as on the comprehensive approach of our solutions:
- Optimisation of water use in agriculture
- Integration of technology adapted to local climate and crops
- Technical training and on-site support
- Genetic improvement and applied research
- Social organisation to facilitate access to markets
“Our aim is to become a strategic partner in Mauritania’s agricultural development by offering reliable, adapted technology and local support. We seek to shorten the learning curve and foster sustainable growth in rural areas,” highlighted our technical team during the session on technological innovation in horticulture.
One of the most notable moments was the institutional meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of Mauritania, facilitated by the Spanish Ambassador, who underlined the strong potential for collaboration between both countries, especially in strategic sectors such as agriculture.
🤝 International cooperation with local impact
AgritechMurcia’s participation in these workshops represents not only another step forward in our international projection, but also a clear example of how the Murcian model of sustainable agriculture can be replicated and adapted to generate real impact in contexts facing similar challenges.
This visit reinforces our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to promoting strategic alliances that place technology at the service of people and the planet.
