ECONEX, specialist in biocontrol of pests with pheromones and traps, has participated in the conference the conference “Latest advances for the integrated control of the new invasive thrips in Mediterranean crops”, organized by the Chair of Precision Agriculture, Digitization and Sustainability of the University of Elche. The aim of this conference is to help farmers to face the new problems derived from the appearance of the African thrips and other invasive species that are affecting
other invasive species that are affecting crops.

During the conference ECONEX presented its latest innovation: a new specific attractant for invasive thrips, a solution that significantly improves the monitoring and management of this pest, offering growers a more effective and sustainable tool. ECONEX ATTRYENT FOR TRIPS SPP marks a key breakthrough in the fight against thrips without the need to resort to chemical products.

In addition to the attractant, the company highlighted other advanced solutions for the biocontrol of these insects, such as chromatic traps, designed to attract and capture invasive thrips, and the promotion of auxiliary fauna through the installation of nests and shelters for beneficial insects, thus promoting a natural balance in crops. Francisco Martínez, General Manager of ECONEX and responsible for the intervention in the conference, recalled the importance of “having a clear strategy, betting on prevention with the use of pheromones and traps and allying with the auxiliary fauna for a more sustainable and effective management of the pest”.
The participation of ECONEX in this conference is evidence of its commitment to innovation and collaboration with the scientific community, with the aim of developing efficient and environmentally friendly strategies for pest biocontrol.
